The assumption is there is a miracle product that will dry in 10 seconds flat or adhere to your nails for weeks on end. But the number 1 tip for doing your nails at home and getting a mani that dries quickly and lasts for a long time? Using the correct amount of product!
How much nail polish to use for each nail?
The secret to at home manicures that dry faster and last for a long time is to apply thin, even coats. You'll also have more control over the product when you apply it! Watch the video below to see exactly how much product to use for each nail.
How to get the perfect amount of polish for each nail
1. When removing your brush from the nail polish bottle fully wipe off one side of the brush so that product only remains on the opposite side of the brush.
2. Gently tap the bead of product that collects at the base of your brush on the neck of your bottle. Try to remove just a tiny bit of that bead!
3. When applying the product allow it to cover your nail in a thin, even coat. It is OK if the first coat isn't perfect or fully opaque - you'll go back with a second thin coat and it will build up!
